Bio

I’m Aayana, a Chemical Engineering undergraduate at UW-Madison. My guiding philosophy is to explore the world purposefully, through new ideas, cultures, or places. Fluent in four (Hindi, English, Maithili, Nepali) languages and currently learning Mandarin, I thrive in environments that encourage cultural curiosity and technological inclusivity. Deeply passionate about sustainability and student advocacy, I’m involved in projects that bring together technology and social impact. In my free time, you’ll find me crafting, cooking, writing, learning a new skill, or seeking out new adventures.

Background

Born in Kathmandu, Nepal, I’ve grown up across three countries and five cities: Kathmandu, Doha in Qatar, Guwahati, Siliguri, and Gurugram in India.

Along the way, I’ve cherished visits to my beautiful, remote village in the rich Mithila plains of Nepal. It’s a place where starry skies are never missed, where the muddy roads test your grit, and where the endless expanse of golden mustard fields and emerald rice paddies meet the horizon.

Yes, I’m a wanderlust at heart. The thrill of exploring every corner of the globe drives me. I’ve called three countries, five cities, and my village home, and I’d jump out this instant to add more destinations to my travelogue.
